Outlet.fyi

Cultural Programming & Marketing - Founder

2019 - 2021

In May 2017, I began developing Outlet.fyi, formerly known as CLPS.IO, as a mobile app that connected people to experiences produced by contemporary artists and cultural institutions. In October, I soft-launched as a booking agency representing a small national roster of 15 multidisciplinary talents under the same brand. By that December, the Outlet.fyi mobile app launched in beta. I created a newsletter to accompany the app in August 2018, which inevitably outgrew the app by 3,800+ members, and developed a social membership with a monthly subscription to access select private events. On October 20, 2018, I hosted members at our first event, a private screening of RaMell Ross’ Oscar-Nominated Documentary Hale County This Morning, This Evening, followed by a Q&A with Black Panther Party leader Kathleen Cleaver at The Crosby Street Hotel.

On November 16, 2018, I left my job at Red Bull to focus on scaling the company full-time.

In January 2019, I officially launched Outlet.fyi as a multicultural media and marketing company rooted in the arts. Our mission was to strengthen the bond between artists, institutions, and the greater public, in order to promote cultural awareness and artistic literacy.

Later that month, I hosted a private dinner in partnership with Dumbo House (Soho House & Co.) to entertain our future partners, built a team of advisors/supporters, and received our first paid-advertisement and marketing partnership with Brooklyn Museum.
